The Launch Event
• Mission Drishti, recognized as the world’s first OptoSAR satellite, was successfully launched on Sunday.
• The satellite was deployed aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg, California. • It was developed by GalaxEye, an innovative space start-up based in Bengaluru.

Satellite Specifications
• Weighing in at 190 kilograms, it currently holds the record as India’s largest privately developed earth observation satellite.
• It is the first satellite globally to successfully integrate both Electro-Optical (EO) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors into a single, operational platform.
Technological Capabilities and Advantages
• The integration of EO and SAR sensors grants the satellite advanced all-weather, day-and-night imaging capabilities.
• This new approach directly addresses the long-standing limitations typically associated with conventional earth observation systems.
• By combining these technologies, Mission Drishti enables highly reliable and consistent data acquisition across a wide range of diverse environmental conditions.
